The location of this year’s Championships 2018 will be at HeartLake Secondary Stadium at 296 Conestoga Dr. , Brampton , ON, L6Z 3M1
The date is Saturday , June 30th, 2018 from 11:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
ENTRY DEADLINE: WED. JUNE 27TH, 2018 – 12 MIDNIGHT –
NO POST ENTRIES ON THE DAY OF THE MEET.

Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals are awarded to the first three finishers in each age category and event.

5-year increments 20 – 24, 25 – 29, 30 – 34 etc up until and including 75 – 79

RACE FORMAT | All races will be 400m sprint on a rubberized track surface.
Relay , 4 x 400m events are available if interest is shown. 1km. Race will be run if interest is shown. First race begins at 12:00 noon. Individual followed by relay. |

AWARDS | 1st 2nd and 3rd place in each age-sex category will receive medals.
All medals will be awarded approximately 20 min after the last race of the day. |

COMPETITORS BRIEFING | 11:30am Saturday , June 30th. All competitors must attend. Meet at entrance to stadium – inside parking lot. | |||
RULES | All competitors are responsible for knowing race rules; infractions will result in disqualification. | |||
ENTRY FEE & FORM | $20 per competitor to cover awards for individual event.

A. | CANADIAN FOOTBIKE ASSOCIATION RULES | |||
1 | Participation is entirely at an individual’s own risk. We are trying to make this event as safe as possible, however no liability is accepted as a result of your participation. | |||
2 | Competitors will not be allowed to compete unless you have signed the accompanying waiver and forego your rights to claim against the organizers , assistants or Stadium owners or employees. | |||
3 | The rules are in place for the protection of all competitors. Competitors and supporters must obey all rules. | |||
4 | Competitors shall ride two wheeled scooters that are propelled by kicking back. In kicking one foot pushes straight backwards on the ground while the other foot is resting on the scooter footboard/ kickplate. Skating-like or similar kick is not allowed. | |||
5 | Scooter construction is free, have only 2 wheels but may not have a motor, mechanical gear or sail, nor may it have sharp or protruding parts causing danger to other competitors. | |||
6 | All scooters used in competition must have pneumatic ( air ) tires and two effective brakes in order to compete. Scooters with skateboard style or solid material wheels will not be entered. | |||
7 | A Canadian CSA standard approved bike style helmet but must be worn at all times with chin strap fastened while riding your scooter. This includes warm-up sessions as well. Knee and elbow pads are recommended but are optional. | |||
8 | At the start both competitor and scooter must stay completely behind the start line. A first false start of a race will be charged to all competitors in that race or heat. A second false start will be charged to the individual at fault and will result in his or her disqualification. | |||
9 | First part of scooter crossing the finish line determines finishing order. | |||
B. | COMPETITOR RULES |
1 | A competitor’s age will be the age they will be will be on race day. |
2 | Competitors race at their own responsibility, follow organizer’s and marshal’s instructions and know race rules, race course and competitive schedule. |
3 | For longer road races competitors may change a malfunctioning scooter during a race, but must complete the road course on a scooter. A running start is permitted for longer distances, but not the Sprint races and relay track events. |
4 | A competitor must not deliberately block an opponent and any kind of interference will result in disqualification. |
5 | During track sprint events all competitors must remain in their lanes. If any part of a scooter touches or crosses a white lane line the result will be disqualification. |
6 | Any action deemed as unsportsmanlike conduct will result in penalties, and /or disqualification, even if that act is not covered by these rules. A panel of 3 judges will rule in these instances and their ruling will be final. |
7 | Supporters may not assist their competing kicker, or in any way interfere with the race itself or any other competitor, without risking penalty or disqualification of their own competitor. |
8 | For longer road races any violation of the Canadian Footbike Ass. Rules or any common road rules covered by the Highway Traffic Act for that region may result in disqualification. |
9 | Competitors may only race in their gender and age categories for any given competition. |
10 | Open Category racing may be available at various competitions and as such if open to all ages, and the fastest male and female will be deemed the winner of the open category. They may also enter their own age and gender race category. |
11 | The use of spiked shoes is strictly prohibited . This means that no metal , plastic or rubber spikes as well as composite spikes may be worn by any competitor while on the track at any time. No spikes are permitted on tires as well. |
11. | Protests are to be lodged with the event director, within 10 minutes of the last competitor finishing that event. The judges decisions will be final |
12. | The panel of 3 judges may make decisions that directly affect competition results and hold discussions with the event organizer if changing preset event course, schedule and such is necessary. |
